The Drabble Day Challenge is a weekly challenge hosted by http://thewriteaholicblog.wordpress.com/ and it involves writing a Drabble (a short story of 100 words, plus or minus 5) based around a particular prompt. This is a late entry into last week’s prompt, which was “SORRY”.
I am supposed to be cleaning; but the globe is sooooo beautiful. Delicate glass filled with smoke and rainbow coloured flashes of lightning. I stare at it, my soul drawn deep into its enticing heart.
“What are you doing!” shouts the Magus from behind me, and I jump.
The globe slips from my fear enfeebled fingers and falls to the floor with a craaaack! “Sorry!” I gasp and turn towards the Magus.
His face is filled with fear and horror and a shadow seems to flow across him. Glancing behind me I see what is escaping from the globe.
This time I scream, “SORRY!”
